Woodchip bioreactors are a simple, but very effective, way to strip nitrate out of drainage water as it leaves the farm. They could well play a major role in improving water quality in Taranaki.
Come along and learn about the woodchip bioreactor that ‘Catchment Solutions’ Massey University, in collaboration with TCC, have built on Ross Dunlop’s property near Ohawe.
Could a bioreactor be a good option on your farm? Bring samples of drainage water from your farm to the field day where we will have a very accurate probe to quickly measure the nitrate concentrations of these samples. (See flyer for details)

This course will cover:
This free course is suitable for 2IC's, farm managers, self-employed farmers and farm owners with knowledge of pasture plants, rotation lengths, residual targets, and cow intakes. Learners must have access to farm pasture and feed information. The course includes four in-person workshops held in between milkings on 27 May, 10 June, 24 June and 8 July.
Enrolments close when the course is full or one week before starting.

Pickleball is the exciting new game everyone is talking about. No experience? No problem! Whether you are a seasoned pro, or have never picked up a paddle, don't worry! We will have friendly players ready to show us the ropes.
What to bring: Wear comfortable clothes and sport shoes. Paddles are provided, or bring your own if you wish.
