Have you made a plan for transitioning off your dairy farm?
Many people put off succession planning because they think it is too difficult or feel anxious about the future. This informative and interactive day will start you on the path to creating a succession plan that will work for you and your family. It includes the following sessions:
Brett Robinson, Rural Coach, will take you through when and how to start your succession journey, thinking about your goals and values, and who can support you to make the right decisions for your family and business.
Anna Bennett and Rachel Robb, partners, CooperAitken, and Jacqui Owen, Jacqui Owen Legal, have years of experience supporting farmers to achieve successful succession planning outcomes. They will talk about how you can avoid fishhooks, structure your farm business to make sure it stays in good heart during the transition to its new owner, and create a succession plan that meets your needs and those of any other stakeholders.
Conrad Booysen,BNZ Private Bank, is a private wealth adviser who specialises in succession planning, working through this process with his clients as they transition to lives after dairy farming. He will talk about investment options and how you can invest to support a comfortable retirement and achieve your retirement goals.
Hear about real-life succession journeys from local farmers. What challenges did they encounter and how did they overcome them? What business structures did they investigate and which one did they implement? Who did they involve in the process and how did they include the key stakeholders in their business?
This process affects the whole family, so bring everyone along!
Join Charlie and Emma Adair on their farm, alongside local farmers, to connect, learn and discuss current on-farm and sector issues.
Also hear from Wade Bell – Pioneer Farm Systems Manager on key benefits of homegrown feed, essential feeding principles and opportunities.

Beneath the daily routine of farming, there’s a growing concern - exposure to herbicides and pesticides is linked to Parkinson’s, a progressive neurological disorder that’s the second most common after Alzheimer’s and the fastest-growing worldwide.
Studies worldwide have shown that chemicals like paraquat, heptachlor, and rotenone - commonly used in agriculture - can increase Parkinson’s risk by up to 200 - 600%, depending on exposure levels. This risk extends beyond farmers to those also living near application areas.
Hear from Dr Daniel McGowan, CEO of Cure Parkinson’s NZ as he shares practical steps farmers can take, such as using protective gear, opting for safer alternatives, and monitoring symptoms like tremors or loss of smell for early diagnosis.
Through this webinar you will:
Together, we can tackle this for our rural communities!

Because a healthy farm starts with a healthy crew! Designed by health and safety experts grounded in the practicalities of farming.
Improve your farm’s safety, and your team’s wellbeing, now and for the future, by engaging the whole team in practicable, common sense solutions. You’ll leave with a detailed Health and Safety profile for your operations and a practical plan covering key areas.
• A half-day workshop: 10am - 2.30pm

What you'll gain:
• Benefit from practical expertise: We cover industry and regulatory requirements of course, with the true value in the no-nonsense application planning and support for real impact on-site.
• An understanding of the impacts of different health and safety approaches: Learn about four different approaches to health and safety, and the key risks, impacts and opportunities for each one.
• Reframe Health and Safety from painful to practical: You’re already focused on keeping people safe; easily document the steps you are already taking to identify gaps and create a clear plan to polish up operational H&S where needed.
• A Practical Measurement Tool:Use our Worksafe guided diagnostic tool to assess where your farm is on its Health and Safety journey.

• Community support:Join a network of farmers, share and learn from each other.
• Increased confidence:Leave the workshops feeling confident and capable of maintaining a supportive and safe working environment for you and your people.
